Rescue Dog Consultation

My In-Home Rescue Training Consultation will help you determine the best training for your new companion.

IN_HOME RESCUE DOG CONSULTATION AND EVALUATION

Overview:

If you have just adopted a rescue dog from a shelter or other organization, this consultation is designed with your situation in mind. We understand the frustration and challenges that can come with bringing a new pet home, only to discover it has many behavior problems. Whether it's counter-surfing, jumping on people, or not yet housebroken, we're here to help and provide you with the support you need.

Many rescue dogs may have more serious behavior problems that include fear, anxiety, stress, and aggression. It can be troubling to discover that your newly adopted dog is afraid of people, has separation anxiety, or won’t relax for even a few minutes. It gets worse if they attack or bite a family member. This may be due to past trauma, inadequate living situations, or lack of obedience training.

The first step towards helping your new puppy or dog is for me to come to your home, conduct an evaluation, and provide a consultation on how your new pet should be trained to do more of what you want, and less of what you don't want.

What to Expect:

During the consultation, I will encourage you to be patient and set low expectations to help support the dog’s acclimation into your home. This can take up to three months. However, the training can start immediately. Remember, it's a gradual process, and every small step counts.

During our time together, I will be upfront and honest about your dog's temperament, ability to learn, and seriousness of of unwanted behaviors.  I will conduct a series of tests on the dog and compile the information for your review.

THIS IS NOT A TRAINING SESSION

After the consultation, you can decide if you want more training and choose from one of our puppy training or dog training programs.

What's the next step?

The 60-minute consultation is normally $250 and includes a thorough, documented review of my assessment of the dog, which will be sent via email within 24 hours.

For a limited time, we are offering this consultation for FREE. Offer expires July 31, 2025.
